1. The First Page of Your Article should have the following printed at the top of the page above the title.

A. Your name.

B. Your age. (If you are under 18, we will need signed permission from your parent or guardian before we post your article.)

C. Your contact information (email required / phone number optional)

D. A short biographic profile of yourself.

E. A one sentence statement of why you wrote your article.

F. The date you submit your article to us.

These six items should be on the first page of your article above the title of your blog. Only your name will appear in the article when it is posted. Your headshot (or image you submitted to replace it) will appear with the blog when it is posted. Your biography will appear on your archive page, along with your headshot, when you post additional articles with us. Your age will not appear unless it is relevant to the article and you have given us specific permission to print your age.

2. Your article should be between 500 - 2000 words in length. Extra space may be granted on a case by case basis. (Word Doc format preferred) 

3. In addition to your headshot, you may include two other images with your article. More images may be allowed upon request. You do not have to include images.

4. Send photographs in separate attached file(s) along with your blog text. All images should be in the .jpg or .png format.

6. With each article you send, Include a signed (electronic signature is OK) statement agreeing to our terms for posting and granting us permission to post your article. (A copy of our terms can be found at the end of these instructions)

7. Remember to include your email address and any other contact information with every individual file or document you send to us.

More About Your Article

We want to publish your article! We just need our blogs to meet a certain standard out of respect for our readers. We don't want to reject anyone, but sometimes we must. Your chances for being published here will be greatly enhanced if you can meet the following criteria:

1. We do not provide editing services, so please self-edit. Professional editing is expensive and we don't expect that, but at least read over your article a couple of times and run the final version through a spell checker or a program like Grammarly.

2. We are not interested in angry rants. Considerate people have concerns and we want you to express your concerns but in a constructive way. Raise any problem you like, but be prepared to discuss it intelligently, even compassionately, and have a solution or two to suggest.

3. Our site is for people of all ages, all races, all religions, all ethnicities, and all concerns. Choose your language accordingly, please. There are many words in the English language and we believe a thoughtful author can make his or her point quite vividly with words that are not obscene, deliberately insulting, or offensive. At the same time, we do not require authors to be professors of politically correct speak. We don't require you to keep up with the latest trends with regard to pronouns, place names, etc.

4. Links, references and footnotes. You may include links in your blog. The content of your links will be checked and they must conform to our guidelines above. You are solely responsible for the links you include in your blog. We will not add any link to your article. When you reference a copyrighted publication, such as a magazine article, book, or blog post, you should give proper credit to that publiction and author(s). You may do this either in the text of your blog on the same line as the reference, in footnotes, or in an appendix at the end of your blog. Because of the formating of our blog, all footnotes will appear at the end of the blog, not the bottom of on each page. Please format your article accordingly.

About Images

The same basic guidelines for the text of your blog, apply to your images. Nude photographs are not allowed. We reserve the right to reject any image that does not meet our standard for journalism. If your images are rejected, we won't publish your blog.

The images you send us should be free of any copyright issues. This means you must send us written permission to use any image that isn't clearly in the public domain. This includes original images you create. Please use the permission form below to affirm that we can use the images you send. Without this form signed by you we won't use the image. THIS INCLUDES YOUR HEADSHOT. We need your written permission to use the headshot you send.

As a general rule images of people whose faces can be recognized must have been released for publication by THE PEOPLE IN THE IMAGE, not just the owner of the image. The owner should have these permissions on file. If he doesn't, we recommend you find another image.

If we receive a copyright complaint about any image, we will immeditately remove it from the site. If the image is integral and necessary to your blog, we will remove your blog as well. We accept no responsibility for informing you about the removal of any image or blog for copyright infringement. We will, of course, answer your questions if you inquire.

Your Rights

Your writing belongs to you, not to us. We make no claim to it, or take any responsibility for it. All rights and responsibilities for what you create remain with you. We reserve the right to remove your blog at our dicrestion
